Grinding accessories and jobs
- Type 27 depressed-center grinding wheels: weld cleanup and material removal, when approved for this tool and guard.
- 5-inch flap discs: blending welds, bevels, and surface preparation; select compatible abrasive, backing and arbor.
- Wire cup brushes: corrosion and coating removal only when expressly suitable for this grinder, guard and spindle system.
- Air supply accessories: suitable hose, fittings, regulator/filter and manufacturer-recommended lubricator.
Wheel safety: Use only manufacturer's approved wheel types, properly rated at or above the tool's marked speed, with correct flanges, arbor and original guard. Never use an unapproved cut-off wheel or remove the guard. Check the exact tool identification before accessory selection.
Read manufacturer operating manual.

Accessories and application guide
Carbide burrs: Metal deburring, detail work, and weld edge cleanup. Select the right burr geometry, shank diameter and manufacturer-approved maximum RPM. M.A. Ford carbide tooling may be sourced upon request.
Mounted grinding stones: Small-area grinding and finishing where the specific stone size, shank and RPM rating suit a compatible die grinder.
Sanding and surface-conditioning: Choose an approved holder, spindle fitting and abrasive disc for the specific tool. The UT8724T-20 is a distinct model; do not interchange accessories with the UT8724-20 without checking the exact interface.
4-1/2-in and 5-in wheels: The UT8780-1 and UT8784-5 are larger angle grinders requiring the correct guards, flanges, compatible discs and operating-speed ratings. Do not assume cut-off operations are approved.
Precision turbine grinding: The UT8711-T requires accessories suitable for its high operating speed; do not install standard die-grinder stones or burrs without explicit manufacturer suitability.
Important: Use the original manufacturer manual to confirm permitted accessory type, maximum diameter, shank/spindle specifications, speed rating and PPE. Application descriptions are examples, not tool approval for specific aircraft maintenance or regulated procedures.
